Dear participants of the 2023 Canadian Go Open, As we approach the tournament very soon this weekend, from Saturday July 1 to Monday July 3 at Pythagoras Academy, we would like to provide everyone with some pieces of important information and give some last-minute reminders. It would be much appreciated if everyone could take some time to go over this email thoroughly. Firstly, we would like to ask everyone to double check if they have completed all 3 parts of the full registration. This includes:
Completing the registration form. This ensures that all registration details have been correctly documented on our side.
Directly registering through the CGA website on your CGA account. If you have not registered, unfortunately, the registration has now been closed. However, by indicating your CGA member ID on the registration form, we will still be able to track your participation.
Payment of the registration fee. As the early registration deadline has passed, the registration fee is now $110 per adult and $100 for youths under 18. When making the payment, whether it is an E-transfer to 2023canadiangoopen@gmail.com, or Paypal to PayPal.Me/2023CanadianGO, please clearly specify the player’s name in the message.
If your registration isn’t yet complete, please try to do so as soon as possible to secure your spot. Secondly, for the open tournament, we will be using Leago to automatically assign pairings within this system. Throughout the tournament, the pairings and current standings will be updated in a timely manner, accessible to everyone. Also, on our tournament website, you will be able to find information regarding the location, tournament schedule, greeting letters, introducing the pros, list of sponsors and more! Thirdly, anyone with an interest in organizing future Canadian Go events may want to pre-read these AGM documents and show up at 1pm on Sunday July 2. If there are any questions or advanced feedback before the annual general meeting, please email president@go-canada.org. In addition, from 5-8pm on Monday July 3, we will be hosting a banquet at Pythagoras Academy. To register, please fill out the banquet registration form before July 1.
